And to appreciate it.
I’m privileged to have interviewed scores of fascinating people, from a shrimp fisherman pioneering sustainable shrimping to tribal officials struggling for federal recognition, and from an entrepreneur selling mass tarot card readings on the internet to a forty-foot tall talking statue of Paul Bunyan. Along the way I learned that everyone has a story if you’re willing to listen.
On the menu above you’ll find a link to a list of the articles I’ve written about these experiences. In some cases, I was able to link to online archives of the articles.
Beyond these articles is what most people think of first when they hear “storytelling,” that is, fiction. I’ve always loved settling in for hours at a time with a novel — or even dipping into a novel I keep in the glovebox for a few minutes at the gas station.
This love of reading led me to create my own fictional world in, so far, two crime novels, The Lanvin Murders and Dior or Die. Both books feature a vintage clothing store owner as an amateur sleuth, and they’re filled with the things I love: good food, quirky people, icy martinis, 1950s cocktail dresses, Depression-era dressing gowns, and men who know what to do when the car breaks down. Fran Collin of the Frances Collin Literary Agency represents these novels.
Thank you for stopping by, and good reading!
